The Best Day
I’m not sure how this post popped into my head…like many of the blog posts I write, they evolve as I’m working on them. This one was fun for me to put together and I’m including the picture above because I’m sitting in one of my favorite places in our back yard - our little gazebo. It was a warm day and I’m wearing a dress that I love. I’m so very fortunate to be able to do what I do and work with such amazing brands. I’m grateful for this life and my many blessings. I think being grateful brings the magic and some days, it can be hard to remember that but there is always something to be grateful for and I try to make that my focus! Keep reading to learn more about my ideal day…I’m really living such an amazing life and I realized that as I was writing today!
If you’ve ever done any personal development work, you have probably heard of a popular exercise where you envision your perfect day, and write every detail down. This helps to clarify your goals, values, and priorities. By imagining an ideal day, you can identify what truly matters, set meaningful intentions, and create a mental blueprint for achieving a more fulfilling life. This process is meant to foster motivation, enhance self-awareness, and provide direction, making it easier to make intentional choices and take actionable steps toward personal growth. Envisioning a perfect day can also boost optimism and confidence, encouraging you to pursue positive changes and cultivate habits that align with your desired lifestyle. That was a mouthful…
My question always is…where is this ideal day taking place, is it on a tropical island at a beautiful resort? Since that’s not a possibility for me today, I thought I would envision an ideal day at home and share my thoughts with you. Mother’s Day seems like a perfect day to have an ideal day…what would your day look like…here’s mine!?
I have been working a lot lately and between having workers in my house (they’re coming back in the morning) and the busyness of life, I haven’t been meditating or journaling as I would like to. So…my ideal day would start early…at around 5 am. I love the quiet and stillness of the early morning. I would (and always do) drink a large glass of water with my supplements (I think I mentioned that I’ve added Oliveda internal products to my routine). After water and supplements…coffee comes next. I love to add a spoonful of Coconut Whip to my coffee…it adds a delicious creaminess that’s so delicious! Thirty minutes of meditation, followed by 30 minutes of journaling would come next. Sometimes I like soft music when I meditate, and sometimes, just silence. A beautiful journal and a very fine tip pen would be my preference. Next, I would read a bit from Brianna Wiest (I just ordered her newest book - The Life That’s Waiting) for inspiration and direction!
A long dog walk everyday is definitely on my list and morning is such a great time for a walk! Since Archie arrived, we haven’t walked as much as I would like and I really want to get back to a regular routine! I have the best harness for Amos and I’m just ordered the same one for little Arch!
I guess I’m a homebody at heart and one of the things that makes me the happiest is when the house is neat and in order, the laundry is done, fresh flowers are scattered around, scented candles are burning and everything looks pretty! I’ve found the best floral designer right down the street and she knows exactly what I like! I take my vases to her and she surprises me with the most fabulous flowers you can imagine! I’ve been collecting vases for quite some time and love to match the flowers to the vase! I’ve been wanting a raffia covered vase for spring flowers and I found one that’s in the collage below!
After a long dog walk…it’s time to get down to business…meaning getting work done…writing blog posts, making social media posts, editing pictures, creating collages and filming content. Being an influencer is more than a full time job and keeping up with it all is intense! Throw in having any kind of a life and the day goes by in a flash! I’m constantly adding the things I didn’t get done today to tomorrow’s list! It’s a good thing I love what I do!
When I’m working, I want to be chic and comfortable and I really do depend on sets from Amazon for my everyday looks. I like to have a candle burning and create an ambience that’s conducive to being creative. I have a drawer by the bed and by the sofa in my den with hand lotion and lip balm and I often have a beautiful book near by so that I can flip through when I’m feeling uninspired! It really does help so much to take a break and look at something beautiful! I’m convinced that a big part of having a great day is planning ahead and having what you need at your fingertips!
I like to have a minute or 15 in the evenings to prepare for the next day… that means sitting down, making a list of what needs to be done and checking my calendar to see where I need to be and when!
I’m a good sleeper and I think it’s partly my night time supplements that include Oliveda ORAC & Camu Camu Olive Leaf Concentrate, the Beauty Molecule and the Beauty Fountain, another Ultima Hydration stick because I sleep better when I’m hydrated, two scoops of Armra and 500 mg of magnesium.
Lake Pajamas are my favorite pajamas because they’re so soft and comfy! For Mother’s Day, I bought my girls a pair and my oldest daughter Lauren gave me a pair! If you haven’t tried them, they really are the best!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! I think what this exercise has shown me is that I am really a very happy person…just a little too busy sometimes. I want to slow down and spend more quality time with the people I love. With every year that goes by, I realize how precious every moment is and I don’t want to waste a minute!

Speaking of laundry…I’m still using Laundry Sauce (the French Saffron is my fave) detergent for my clothes and linens and I’ve also started using the Scent Booster as well…it adds more fabulous scent to the clothes! Laundry Sauce not only smells great…it’s cruelty-free, paraben-free, dye-free & HE compatible. I love these products and feel great about using them!
Part of having an ideal day for me is talking with my daughters and grandchildren! Thank goodness for FaceTime…it’s a lifesaver for connecting with my babies that don’t live in town! Nothing takes the place of spending quality time in person, but at least with FaceTime, I can see them and they can see me! These little ones are growing up so quickly and I’m sad we don’t all live close together!
It doesn’t happen often, but ideally, I would like to finish working by around 5:30, take a little break with a glass of wine and then start dinner. I’m trying to eat well and focus on my health since my melanoma scare but (and) one of my favorite things in the afternoon is to have a few potato chips with a sip of wine! The cold wine and salty potato chips is such a great combination! My new favorite chips are these Iberian Ham Chips..I also love these Dill Pickle Chips. I know, I know…
Another note about these Iberian Ham Chips…they are so delicious crumbled over a piece of salmon that’s been coated in mustard. Simply drizzle your salmon with a little olive oil, salt & pepper, add a thin layer of Dijon mustard and crumble the chips over the top. Drizzle with a little more olive oil and bake at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes or until it’s done to your liking! You can also crumble these chips over Mac & Cheese…soooo delicious and different!
Even though I love that salmon, my perfect day dinner would be seared tuna with avocado and an Asian sauce…ideally I would like to cook it and have someone else clean up the kitchen! I’m really fortunate because that’s usually how it goes around here…I cook and Baldy cleans up!
I love to have dinner on our front porch in the spring and summer! I’ve recently done a front porch refresh and added new pillows and a throw to the rocking chairs and a new bar cart (love this one) as well as some white planters with ferns. It’s looking great!
As for our back patio…last year I found a vintage Palm Beach iron table and 8 chairs and I’m just now getting around to having them painted. I had to send them to a place to be dipped and then they go down the road to be powder coated. I’m painting them a light blue color (the inspiration came from the latest issue of Southern Home), and I’m looking for fabric for the seats and for the pillows on the sofa and chairs by the fireplace. Come September…this house should be in great shape! So, ideally, I would love to have my family over for dinner…serve drinks and hors d’oeuvres on the porch (maybe serve this Burrata Board) and eat dinner on the newly painted patio table! Spending time with my grandchildren and daughters is at the top of my list!
Thanks so much for reading today! Let me know what you think of this post!
